Roulette Help
Roulette is a game where players place bets on the number from the wheel they think the ball will land on.
To start, players make their bets with a special set of chips. Each chip has a different colour and represents a
different player. Once the betting is finished, the croupier spins the wheel to get the winning number.
Outside Bets
The roulette board has numbers ranging from one to 36, as well as 0 and 00 on an area known as the inner circle.
Players can make outside bets on the area at the edge of the table. And there are a number of different things to
bet on, including entire sets of numbers. The following are some examples of outside bets.
- Red/Black
Wagering on whether or not the winning number will be one of the two colours, with a pay out of even money.
- Odd/Even
Betting on whether you think the winning number will be odd or even. This is another even money wager.
- Dozens
Players can choose to bet on the three sets of 12 numbers with a pay out of two to one.
- Columns
Players can also bet on the 12 numbers from any of the columns in the layout. This also has a two to one pay out.
- Low/High
You choose to bet on whether the winning number will fall in the lower or high ranges. The lower range has the numbers one to 18, while the higher range includes the numbers from 19 to 31. This wager pays out even money.
Inside Bets
Inside bets can be made on any number, or combination of number, that appears in the numbers layout.
- Split bet
This is when you bet on two adjoining numbers. The chips get placed on the line between each number. Pay out is 17 to one.
- Five-number bet
This is a bet that can only be made on a single set of numbers - 0,00,1,2,3. And the chips must bet set on the corner of the intersection of 0,1, and the first dozen numbers. The pay out here is six to one.
- Line bet
A player can also bet on six adjoining numbers in two rows. For this wager, chips get placed on the intersection of the two rows on one of the outside lines. The odds for this kind of bet are five to one.
- Corner bet
This is a wager on a set of four adjoining numbers that form a square. Place your chips in the middle of the four squares, and if you win, the pay out is set at eight to one.
- Straight-up bet
Betting on only a single number. The pay off is 35 to one.
- Street bet
This is where a wager is placed on three numbers in a row. Chips are set on the outside line of the row you want to bet on, and the pay out here is 11 to one.
